Traveling Through Colorado During COVID

Until mid-march of this year, constant travel was part of my normal everyday life, building and managing relationships with our clients and prospects through in-person meetings. That was then. For the last five months, the new normal has been working from home waiting for things to settle down.

As a traveler, balancing my desire to get back on the road with maintaining safety for me and my clients, I rely on our partner facilities and prospects to provide guidance on when they are comfortable with for onsite meetings. When there was a dip in COVID metrics in late June/early July, I was able to take a short trip to visit our clients and deliver masks  – exercising social distancing and safety precautions of course. Although limited to a few meetings over a couple of days, it was nice to catch up in person, bring a needed supply of masks, and hear their stories. I wanted to take a minute and share a few highlights from my trip.

While traveling in Colorado last month, I recall thinking about how grateful I was that our partners were safe and working hard to keep their operations running. Whether the meetings were held in closed lobbies, outside the entrance of the facility, in an office or parking lot, it really didn’t seem to matter much at all. We took the opportunity to catch up while enjoying the sunshine. As I delivered certified face masks that HRG purchased for our partners and prospects, they shared with me how they have managed to cope during the pandemic, how drops in volume have affected their facility, what needs they foresee in the future, and how much more we all appreciate the little things now.

As I drove from meeting to meeting, past the most beautiful scenery imaginable, I felt as if life had returned to normal. I almost forgot we were even still in a pandemic…which I was quickly reminded of any time I stopped for essentials and immediately searched for my face mask! But still, It was such a great feeling to be back to work doing what I love - talking with great people who care deeply about their facilities, employees, and their community. You are the healthcare heroes in your community! Thank you for all you do.
