Federal No Surprises Act Refresher

The Federal No Surprises Act officially went live on 1/1/2022. Last year we did a full review of CMS' final ruling, but now that it's live, it's a good idea to have a refresher since out of network claims will begin processing in the coming weeks.

For the first half of our session we'll:

  • Discuss what the No Surprises Act entails and how this differs from requirements at the state level, and

  • Prepare your business office staff by reviewing new remittance advice codes and workflows, as well as

  • Discuss formal provider and patient/provider dispute workflows

Not ready for the Act to go-live? That's OK! During the last half of our time, we'll talk about provider readiness by reviewing detailed steps you can take now to get your organization prepared. Our readiness plan includes how to determine how much of your reimbursement is at risk, workflows to implement quickly and a comprehensive training checklist for all Patient Financial Services staff; including, patient access, billing/cash posting and self pay collections. We'll even review reports you can use to monitor your reimbursement.
